Live Below the Line (LBL) is a community fundraising campaign that is coordinated by the Global Poverty Project (GPP). GPP takes privacy and data protection issues seriously. We have established this Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) to explain how we handle personally identifiable information collected from participants and donors on this Web site www.livebelowtheline.com. Refunds & Delivery As we only accept donations we do not process refunds of any kind, and there is no delivery time. Personal information collected LBL only collects personal information that is necessary for LBL's functions and activities. This information will only be collected with the consent of the individual or otherwise in accordance with the law. For example, when you make a donation to LBL, we ask for your contact information (such as your name, street address, and e-mail address), as well as certain billing information (such as your or your business’s bank account number or credit card number). As with many other Web sites, the Web servers used to operate the Site may collect certain non-personal data pertaining to users of the Site and the equipment and communications method that they use to access the Internet and the Site. Without combining these data with other sources of information, they do not readily or personally identify individuals. Specifically, LBL uses the secure Artez fundraising platform to collect personal information, and IATS to process payments. ARTEZ INTERACTIVE INC. respects your right to privacy and is committed to protect the personal information you provide to us. Your personal information will only be used for the purpose we have identified when obtaining the information. ARTEZ INTERACTIVE uses the information collected through its Internet-based tools to facilitate the processing of donations, to provide tax receipts, and processing online event registrations. Live Below the Line does not store any credit card information. Artez is fully PCI Compliant, meaning: In order to process recurring donations for monthly giving plans, Artez must obtain and store Personal Information. This data is stored securely and the processes governing this storage conform to the highest security rating defined by the Payment Card Industry (PCI Level 1). Artez does not own this data, but merely retains it to facilitate recurring payments. Artez performs this duty until the giving plan expires or is cancelled, after which the data is responsibly destroyed. Artez does not under any circumstance transmit this data to any third party other than the payment processor chosen by the Client. In order to comply with the PCI Level 1 certification, Artez cannot and will not transmit or relinquish this data to any organisation (including the Client itself) that is not also accredited by the Payment Card Industry to Level 1 status. Artez have met rigorous industry standards in solidifying our processes, policies, infrastructure, and hosting facilities. The Artez application is hosted in a segregated and secure area at Q9, a world class facility located in Toronto, Canada. The highly robust and fully redundant infrastructure has been designed and managed by Artez technical engineers following industry standard best practices and using only best of bread vendor equipment at each layer of our architecture. We pass inspection from a third party independent auditor, IBM Security Services, that performs on-site assessments. Artez complete a rigorous screening process to remain on Visa's certification list. Other providers might follow broad PCI guidelines, but unless they are on Visa's list of PCI-compliant providers, they are not doing enough to protect you and your organization. Disclosure when required by law LBL may otherwise use or disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, which may include emergency situations and assisting law enforcement agencies. Access to database/mailing lists LBL will not allow access to LBL's database or mailing lists to any other organisation or individual, except as expressly permitted by the user. However, if the material another organisation or individual wishes to circulate through the LBL database is sympathetic with LBL’s core values and is within the use anticipated by those on the mailing list, LBL will take responsibility for the circulation and will ask that the organisation/individual to provide LBL with a letter explaining their request.
