Easter Seals Drop Zone Charlottetown

My Message
|
Hi my name is Paul Compton aka Superman. I’m going to be rappelling, or in other words, literally dropping 10 storeys off the side of the Delta Hotel on October 8th. I’m considered a superhero to many but especially to Cindy and Rich Beharrell, my sister and brother in-law. When their office, Century 21/ Colonial Realty, first started talking about putting in a team for the Drop Zone they realized that two of the Easter Seals charities supported by this event would be the Joyriders and Camp Gencheff. These two causes are especially important to me as I have many wonderful memories of the great times I've had while attending both these programs and have made some lifelong friends.
When Rich talked to me about the Drop Zone event and what was involved in joining the Century 21 team, my first question was “is it safe?” Once I knew the answer was yes I said sign me up and from that day forward I haven’t looked back. I’m very proud and feeling pretty brave to be doing this for such a great cause.
If you want to come out and witness this daring event I'd love to see you. I'll be easy to recognize as I’ll be Superman. Most important though please don't forget to sponsor me.
MY JOYRIDERS AND CAMP GENCHEFF EXPERIENCES
I was involved with the Joyriders for over 20 years and only left in 2006 because of other responsibilities associated with my becoming a student in the UPEI Ace program; where I have since graduated. The Saturdays I spent at Joyriders was a lot of fun. I even got to attend games in Atlantic Canada and was proud to be chosen as one of two riders from PEI to participate on the Atlantic team, in the Prince Philip Mounted Games for the Disabled, in Toronto in 1988.
My first camping experience with Camp Gencheff was over 20 years ago and has been one of the highlights of my year, ever since. At camp I get to hang out with friends and play games such as baseball, volleyball and Frisbee, watch movies, listen to music, go for walks and my favourite have dances. I love to get up and show off my latest dance moves. Sometimes my best buddy Travis Judson and I will have a dance off and the rest of the group will choose their favourite dancer.
These are only two of the causes the Easter Seals support. So remember if you sponsor me you’ll be putting a smile on a lot of faces.
