Little Lungs

Little Lungs is dedicated to helping children with respiratory issues. All funds will be donated to The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation , and directed to the Respiratory Department to help these special children breathe a little easier. Through events, corporate sponsorships and online donations, we strive to make a significant impact on the lives of the children struggling with breathing sensitivities, and the families that support them.

Watch Danielle's Story



Danielle Caterina first came to SickKids still in her mother’s womb. The doctors needed to test her for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Her older sister Sarah suffered from the genetic disease so there was a strong chance Danielle would also have CF. The test on baby Danielle came back positive.

In 2002, Lori’s second daughter, Brooklyn passed away at five months-of-age, due to Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disorder (SCID). This is a rare disorder where the body lacks specialized white blood cells (B- and T-lymphocytes) which defend the body from infection. Essentially babies with SCID have little or no immune system.
