Clarington Polar Bear Swim
Every New Year's Day at the Newcastle waterfront people take "The Plunge For Life" and jump in Lake Ontario.
We raise awareness for organ and tissue donation and we raise money for research into paediatric liver disease research at Sick Kids.
This event has grown every one of the last six years we have been hosting it.
Last year saw 80 swimmers brave the icy cold waters of Lake Ontario with hundreds of spectators cheering them on!
Everyone enjoys the music and barbeque at this unique event.
What better way to welcome the new year than to give to a great cause!
To date, the Clarington Polar Bear Swim has raised $30,000!
Join us on January 1, 2010!
