A Gift of Hope is part of a long-term plan that takes aim at the root causes of poverty, transforming the lives of children in need. Help me to raise funds for Plan Canada's Gifts of Hope program and make it possible for Plan to work collaboratively with people in the poorer communities of the world - helping them to lift themselves out of poverty and into a brighter future.

In Mozambique, poverty plays a huge role in preventing children from going to school. Parents are forced to make hard choices about sending their children to school since education is only free up until grade five, and often schools are more than a two-hour walk away. A gift of $40,000 constructs a school and provides the essential desks, chairs and blackboards, so that thousands of children who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to go to school, get the basic education that is their right.
