Racing to Save Lives
We did it!!! I want to thank everyone who helped me with this journey. All of your encouraging words and support have moved me and helped me to acheive this goal. It was certainly worth all the training. Sue is an amazing determined person as you all know and I was so proud of her as she crossed that finish line (with her stress fractured leg!!) I cried as we started the race(very emotional!!) and I cried as we finished (happy tears) Now the question is "What does she have planned next"??
Oct. 4th Today I ran 19km out to the airport in Inuvik. It is wayyyyyy to cold for this. I was cold then hot then I stripped off and then cold and stiff and sore....get the picture!! (not pretty lol) However I have not lost sight of the true cause and my running it just an aside. Raising this money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada is a great honor and I thank all of you for your gracious support. Running for & with our friend/sister Sue is a gift and you will all be with me (in my heart) when we cross the finish line. Thank you again for your support!!
Aug 10th Ran 16 km in the cold (3C) rain, wind and I'm sure we seen hail. It took all my strength and ability to do this. Thanks for your help Martina!! The plan is to do another 16km on Saturday am before my vacation to Cape Breton where I hope the training is warmer!! Can't wait to train with my brother who is awesome.
July 20th Ran 10 km today!! Just need to double this by Oct...Thank heavens there will be no flies then. I feel like a car windshield running down the Demster Hwy. Lots of protein I'm hoping!!
Welcome to my Team In Training home page
I am training to run in the Nike Woman's Marathon & 1/2 Marathon on Oct 18th in San Franscio as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada’s Team In Training.
I have never run a race before I signed up for this "event" (what was I thinking!!) in fact I have never run before... so it is with great pain and lots of Advil that I train with my sister for this. I realize this is only minor as compared to the strength and endurance it takes to fight cancer. I hope to raise lots!! of funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I’m running the 1/2 marathon in honor of my "sister" Sue Clarkson and all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Sue was diagnosed with t-cell lymphoma in April 2009. She is an amazing person who has shown so much strength and courage with her diagnosis. She inspires us all to be the best we can be.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLSC’s mission.
Any amount over $10.00 will receive a tax receipt by email. Please help me to reach my goal.
I hope you’ll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. I promise to email all of my supporters funny pictures of me ?running. This will be an adventure!!
Thanks for your support!
