Message from Sandy

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by.

This year, in an effort to get fit and do something extremely worthwhile, I am running for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada's Team in Training.

By being a part of the team, I have heard and witnessed incredible stories about survivors of leukemia and lymphoma, and it is such an inspiration to know (and see!) that the fundraising efforts have helped many individuals that are close to us. I have always wanted to contribute my efforts to leukemia research, as it is a disease that often affects more children than adults, and there's nothing more heart-breaking than watching little children battle life-threatening diseases.

If you know me, you'd know that I have always hated running (i.e. walked-1.5-out-of-the-2km-trail-in-gym-class kind of dislike). I thought this would be a really good challenge to get me motivated and running, since the cause is something that I care deeply about.

To read up on my running progress, check out my blog at www.mangoonanapple.com. I promise to keep the training anecdotes entertaining!

Please support me in my first half-marathon on September 27, 2009!
