Welcome to my Team In Training (TNT) home page.

I am training to participate in the Montreal marathon on September 13th, 2009, as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada’s Team In Training. I will be running the full marathon and my sister, Louise, will be running the half marathon.

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

Louise and I are completing this event in honour of our dear friend, Neil Wiernik, who is currently undergoing a stem cell transplant in Toronto, Ontario. He is a cancer warrior who has been battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma since March 2007.

Neil Wiernik is an audio contortionist, curator and digital media specialist. He has presented projects at the Finland Contemporary Museum, ISEA, Subtle Technologies Conference, The Medusa Complex, Mutek Festival and Gallery Optica. He is also known under the moniker of naw.

Neil is a son, a nephew, a cousin and a loyal friend to all those who know him. He has created a blog / photo essay of his progression through his treatment process http://neilsnodes.blogspot.com/ which I encourage you to visit.

Although this is the first marathon I am attempting, the time and pain I am contributing is nothing compared to what Neil and other cancer warriors suffer on a regular basis, through chemotherapy, stem cells transplants etc. This is a small token to express our admiration of his courage, as well as to acknowledge the support and care he has been receiving from different medical teams.

Louise and I look forward to seeing Neil waiting for us when we run into the Olympic Stadium on September 13th!
