MORE ABOUT THE DR. T.J. (JOCK) MURRAY SCHOLARSHIP…

Dr. Jock Murray has been one of the leading MS researchers and clinical care providers in Atlantic Canada for over 45 years. He is the founder and former director of the MS Research Unit and former Dean of Medicine at Dalhousie as well as the author to over 200 medical publications. His lifelong devotion to his multiple sclerosis patients and his passionate interest in cutting edge research has earned him many distinguished awards including the Order of Canada and most recently, the Order of Nova Scotia.

Thanks to the accomplishments of Dr. Jock Murray and other top researchers, the cure for multiple sclerosis is now within our reach. However, as these leaders in MS research retire and a limited number of skilled young scientists take their place, progress towards the end of MS is at risk.

To address this urgent need, the Atlantic Division of the MS Society announced the $100,000 Dr. T.J. (Jock) Murray Scholarship in support of the endMS Research and Training Network. This scholarship will help attract the best and brightest minds and maintain our country’s reputation as the premier destination in the world in which to train for and pursue a career in MS research.

Through your support of the endMS Research and Training Network, the Dr. T.J. (Jock) Murray Scholarship will provide a foundation for the next generation of MS researchers in Canada and accelerate the pace of research activities to find a cure, and improved treatments, for MS in the shortest possible time.

Dr. Jock Murray has proved that one person can make a difference. It is now time for each of us to make a difference. Every dollar of support brings us closer to the cure. So far, we have raised over $75,000. Let’s take this last step together and finally end MS!
