Jade Swim-4-Life
AUGUST 1ST 2009 - LAKE ONTARIO CONQUERED!
Jade successfully swam solo across Lake Ontario to become the youngest person to swim the Marilyn Bell Route. Her time was 19 hours 59 minutes and 49 seconds for the 52kms, entering the water at Queen's Royal Park in Niagara-on-the-Lake at 9:33pm on July 31st, and finishing at 5:32pm in Marilyn Bell Park, Toronto on August 1st.
In 2008 Jade became the youngest swimmer to cross Lake Erie at 14 years old, and the fastest swimmer at 5hrs 40mins 35secs, beating the previous record by 2 hrs and 7mins. She entered the water at Sturgeon Point in NY, USA and finished at Crystal Beach, Ontario.
Jade, from Caledon in Ontario, is a student at The Country Day School and a member of Vaughan Aquatic Club in Woodbridge.
