Dare to race me down the outer wall of the 27 story Sutton Place Hotel. You may want to remain on the sidewalk, and delegate the sliding off the building to me. If so, please show your enthusiastic participation with a generous donation.
A note of caution. I moved from fear to freedom many years ago and love unusual challenges. In 2007 I navigated for Ryan Kucy in my #51 racecar to win the "Blind Behind the Wheel" race between the eight blind drivers who dared to take on a bit of added challenge at Edmonton International Raceway. http://EdmontonRaceway.com I hope to repeat the same on June 14, when the 2008 Blind race will take place. I am building a hotter car for the 2008 NASCAR Feature Stock season. I will lend that car to a blind driver for use in the Blind race, with me as navigator.
I know how incredibly lucky I am. They demanded my quick departure form hospital a few days after I was born. I have obliged, and never gone back for another hospital stay. Not a single bone has broken in my body. My overall health is pretty good.
When slipping over the edge of the parapet above the 27'th floor the survival instincts put up a pretty good fight. My logic and pre-set goals win. Slip down to the outside wall and I am free to slide, bounce off the wall and even check out what is around the corner. I do this for fun and frequently invite somebody else to join in. I am incredibly lucky.
There is a young man in town to whom a plain wheelchair lift would mean much more than my lifetime racing addiction and other adrenaline rushes combined. The freedom provided by a wheelchair lift for the family van would remove the constant waiting for the DATS bus. Freedom for a child with some mobility issue could be a few weeks at summer camp instead of a permanent stay in some gloomy hospital.
Together we will find Solutions, and provide some select Freedom. Here is where YOU come in. YOU ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION! Your generous donation will provide Freedom to some individual. Together we can improve a simple issue like getting to school on time for some individual with mobility issues. YOU can be part of providing the proper gadget through the Easter Seals.
When we do what we know best, we live up to our intended Purpose. Perhaps Your Purpose is not to drive around in circles on a racetrack or dangle off a rope down the wall of a 27 story building. Excellent! Then your purpose is to join in and improve the life for some individual who is on the Easter Seals waiting list for some mobility device or event.
One definition of Love is "giving without expectation of return". Your loving contribution will help to change the life for an individual with some mobility issue, or send a few children to the Easter Seals summer camp. There are NO PROBLEMS, just NOT YET FOUND SOLUTIONS! You are part of the Solution by your generous donation.
PS! My http://www.FatToFitInMinutes.com website will have ongoing commentary about the progress in this under the "Community Support" tag in the left column.
PS!! If you come to Wetaskiwin to check out some racing, it is at 6 PM most every Saturday night. The season begins on May 10. Please cheer on the #51 in the NASCAR Feature Stock class. That is me that usually drives that one.
