Jessie Is Going For Gold

Hi! My name is Jessica Krejcik, I am thirteen years old and I have completed my bronze and sliver coureur de bois in the 160 km. Canadian ski marathon, the longest x-c event in the world. This year I hope to accomplish my gold. I am doing my the gold for children with cancer. I will be raising money for sick children and there family because it’s not only the child who gets affected by the sickness but also the family and friends. I would be doing a sport I love and helping sick children at the same time . It has been, and always will be, one of my big goals in life, to raise a lot of money for sick children. I think it would be fantastic if you could help me achieve my goal. I can’t relate to the children’s suffering, but I have been to the hospital numerous times. I remember waiting in the waiting room for hours and pitying myself. I didn’t even have to stay over night; some children have to stay there for weeks and months. It just shows you how spoiled we are. When I was eleven due to a hockey injury I couldn’t walk for a month, and I also couldn’t do the marathon. I was so upset and annoyed. But come to think of it, there are children who don’t have legs or who are paralyzed for life, and here I am complaining that I can’t walk for one month out of my whole life. I would really like to help the children to become better and live more normal lives. ********************************* To receive her gold Coureur de Bois pin, Jessie has to complete the 160 km. marathon, sleep outside in the cold on the Saturday night of the 2 day event and carry all of her necessities for the event upon her back. At 10, Jessie was the youngest girl ever to complete the marathon, and may be the youngest over all as well. Those wishing to donate to Toronto Sick Kids Hospital may do so directly below. Every children's hospital in Canada is accepting donations to sponsor Jessie so please feel free to contact and donate to any children's hospital of your choice!
