Help me support this worthy cause!
I'm running the Jerusalem marathon, my 11th marathon. While I will be in Israel touring the beautiful country with my family, as you can imagine, running through the streets of Jerusalem will be very exciting and an opportunity I could not pass up (and who doesn't see the enjoyment in running 42.2km's!).
I am running in support of the Ayalon-Canada Park a recreation area established through Canadian fundraising which lies between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Physical activity is an important part of my life so this seems a perfect way to support my country and encourage exercise. The park includes biking and hiking trails surrounded by forests filled with fruit and olive trees bathed in history including secret underground tunnels, a crusader fortress and roman bathhouses dating back more than 2000 years. In the middle of the park is a memorial to commemorate Canadian Jews who have died in Israeli wars or as victims of terror.
My goal is to raise $10,000 which will make a big impact to continued development of the park. I know that all of my long training runs throughout the cold and dark Toronto winter will payoff as I run through the crowded streets of Jerusalem in March. I feel fortunate to have this opportunity and hope I can count on you for your support.
