Having a healthy, active lifestyle has always been something of great importance to me. I was a member of the Wilfrid Laurier Varsity Cross Country Team and currently teach in-door cycling classes for GoodLife Fitness. I feel most alive when physically active and helping others. My passion for fitness has taken me abroad, doing humanitarian work with a focus on health and wellness. The SNKCR is an unbelievable opportunity because I will be raising money and awareness for kids with cancer and building hope that they too can improve their quality of life.


I feel very privileged to be a National Rider for the SNKCR, as I will be able to combine my passion for helping others and will challenge myself mentally, emotionally and physically. My inspiration to get involved in the ride came from Kari Primak, who was a 2009 National Rider. I was fortunate enough to watch Kari and all of the 2009 National Riders finish their journey in Halifax; it was at this time that I had a conversation I will never forget. I was speaking to a father who had a son living with cancer and he told me that even though the 2009 ride was over, the battle of childhood cancer was not. He explained there is a chance his son will die of cancer and he will not stop fighting until a cure is found. I looked at his son and at that moment I knew I had to help beat this terrible disease.


Cancer robs over 10,000 Canadian children of their childhoods, and takes them from their families prematurely. Events and opportunities like this shape who we are as individuals. This is the opportunity of a lifetime, and I know that it will have a dramatic impact on my own life and the lives of children living with cancer. I will raise over $25,000 for kids living with cancer and ride 7000 kilometers across Canada in sixteen days. What will you do to help?
