When we were introduced to this 2010 Mount Everest Base Camp Trek, we realized it has the unique quality of combining adventure with a cause / charity that makes dreams come true – the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We are honored to have the opportunity to join a group of 25 trekkers on a journey to Everest Base Camp (17,600 ft) from April 21st to May 10th, 2010. Make-A-Wish generously grants wishes to children with terminal illnesses. Since its inception in 1980, Make‐A‐Wish International has helped to make 225,000 wishes come true for children around the world. The goal of the combined group on this trip is to raise a total of $200,000. Each trekker’s goal is to raise $8,000. Make-A-Wish has a special place in our hearts as Pamela’s nephew has a rare genetic disease called Friedreich’s Ataxia. He was granted a wish through this organization a few years ago when he requested to meet then NY Giant, Tiki Barber and got to experience a game up close and personal. Our journey begins as we fly in to Katmandu and then take a short flight to Lukla where we begin our ascent. Corporate and individual donations at any level are welcome!
