This Father's Day - Sunday, June 21, 2009 - I will be taking part in the Safeway Father’s Day Walk/Run for prostate cancer. By taking part in this fun, family event, I am honouring the men in my life, raising awareness of the disease and fundraising for research.

This is my second Safeway Father's Day walk. A little late getting out of the gate thisyear as I was unsure if I would be attending.

I have good news that my father, after succesful radiation treatment over a year ago, received word that he no longer needed follow-up visits to Sunnybrook Cancer Centre.

It's events like this that show how important the funding is to enable further research so that those, like my dad, can beat this disease.
