On Sept 29, 2013, I will hike the Grouse Grind in support of the Alzheimer Society of B.C.

Mt. Kilimanjaro Grouse Grind for Alzheimer’s is a team oriented fitness fundraising experience that mirrors the challenge the Ascent for Alzheimer’s team is undertaking on Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa during the same time period. It takes seven trips up the Grouse Grind to equal one ascent of Mt. Kilimanjaro and with our combined team grind total we accept this challenge!

With your generosity, we can make a difference to the more than 70,000 British Columbians who are currently affected by Alzheimer disease and related dementias. Join me in ending the stigma of Alzheimer’s disease as it isn't just about our parents' generation – it's about ours.

This year we also have “SuperGrinders” – these are what we call our hikers who are challenging themselves to do the grind more than once! Two of these SuperGrinders are going to do ALL SEVEN grinds themselves!! Once teams make it to the top of the grind we will have a big celebration: A BBQ, music, a drum circle, yoga classes a massage tent, prizes, and more! It’s a really fun event!
