Only on one night a year do households expect their dinner hour to be interrupted in order to distribute free and edible items to all who ask. Trick or Eat puts a new spin on Halloween as costumed students canvass their neighbourhoods collecting food for the Canadians in need.

As co-coordinator of our Western chapter, this is a cause that is very close to my heart. Food bank use in Canada increased by 41% from 2007 to 2008 in the challenging economy - and 38% of food bank users are children. Last year we had 350 amazing student volunteers come out and raised $15 000 worth of food (not including online donations!) in one night, at Western alone.

This year we want to outdo ourselves and our executive team is working hard to make this event a big success. Food agencies in our community need help now more than ever... please give generously.
