My Team Message
Live your dream of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with me and other Canadians while supporting CARE Canada. The climb will take place from December 29, 2013 to January 6, 2014.

Picture me on January 28, 2012 sitting on the plane in Montreal about to head to Tanzania. Fundraising done! Training done! All that's left to do is "simply" climb Kiimanjaro. Not to be! A sore throat ... cancelled flight ... strange hotel/little sleep ... wake up, more flu symptoms ... difficult choice. After consulting with the professionals at Tusker Trail, the guiding company, I reluctantly returned to Ottawa. My dream of climbing "Kili" has only grown stronger, and I've recommitted myself for 2013 to climb with Tusker Trail.

I share my personal anecdote for several reasons to:

1. Indicate that I am motivated, as your Team Captain, for all of us to make it to Tanzania and celebrate climbing Killimanjaro together.
2. Tell you that I am the "Team Captain" and also the Volunteer Coordinator for Climb for Care Kilimanjaro 2013.
3. Point out that we are in fantastic hands with Tusker Trail.

The challenges and rewards of the fundraising, training, and climbing journeys make this experience unique. Designed for all Canadians wishing to do extraordinary things, each team member is asked to determine a fundraising goal that will stretch them.
Accomplishing this first goal will set the stage for achieving the training and climbing goals.

Conquering Kiimanjaro while raising money for CARE will inspire you to do things you never dreamed you could do!

Space is limited. I will accepts 20 climbers maximum to the 2013 team.

Cheers,

Doug Thicke
