My Team Message
On Saturday, October 24, we are walking and building for the children of northern Uganda.

An entire generation, my generation, in Uganda has never known peace. Tens of thousands if civilians have been mutilated and killed by the Lord's Resistance Army. Since 1986, the leader of the LRA, Joseph Kony, has abducted over 40,000 children to fight as child soldiers, as well as serve as porters and sex slaves for his militia. This war has displaced over a million Africans and, even worse, it is spreading. The LRA has moved their headquarters into the Congo and continually commit brutal acts upon Congolese and Sudanese citizens. Between December 2008 and January 2009 alone the LRA had killed 865 Congolese and abducted 160 of their children. In the past year, 180,000 Congolese and 60,000 Sudanese have been displaced because of the LRA. This has to stop.

GuluWalk is dedicated to providing a future for these children through awareness and fundraising. On Sept 22, Thomas Katsiyiannis and Kathryn Bilinski addressed the Berklee Internet Radio listeners with a plea for help. This one of the steps we will take to hold up our end of the movement.

But we need your support! Please help us reach our donation goals or even better, join us! Become part of the "Correspondence Team" by signing up at www.guluwalk.com.

Thank you!
