Welcome to our Pack fundraising page for the 17th Annual "Paws in the Park". I am a Board member of the SPCA and Bridget and I both volunteer at the SPCA as "Bark Buddies", working with the dogs. As a Board member of the SPCA, I know that every year the SPCA of Central Florida provides a transitional home for thousands of animals in need. As volunteers, Bridget and I see that many of the dogs brought to SPCA have had it. They've been pushed from one lousy situation to another. Some have never had proper veterinary care, kind and consistent training, or sufficient company. They've lived outside, in a crate, or in the basement. They're scared, depressed and anxious. Some are sick. Some have given up. But the staff and volunteers at SPCA don't give up. We never give up on a dog or cat. We know that they are living beings, with a spirit and a heart and feelings. Our dogs and cats are not commodities, things, or garbage. A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself and as such they deserve as much love and care and respect as can possibly be given. A Rescue dog or cat rewards a person in ways they never thought possible. I can promise you this -- a rescue dog or cat will make you a better person. This year the Law Dawgs are teamed with Peiton's Pack to help rasie money for the SPCA.
