Hi Everyone!

My involvement with PRF began after viewing a special on the Health Channel highlighting the condition and some of the amazing children afflicted with it. My heart was touched by the strength and incredibly uplifting spirit these children exhibit despite their daily struggles, and I was inspired to help in some way. With the ceaseless help of Team Zoey, the foundation created for Zoey Penny by her grandfather, my friends and I were able to hold a Turkey Trot for Zoey, and other children with Progeria, this past November.

What I received and learned from this experience, and what I will carry with me always, is more than I can ever reciprocate. In spite of their daily challenges, the joy that children with Progeria exhibit for life is contagious. To most people, $1 may seem like nothing, but to the children afflicted with Progeria, to their families, and to their friends, $1 means the world. $1 means one more day with their loved one, $1 means not only one more day alive, but one more day actually living life—$1 means a chance for a cure.
