First and foremost, you should all know that this is a fundraiser for the SPCA of Central Florida!
The "Wiggle Waggle Walk" is a FUN fund-raising pet walk to support the animals and community programming here at the SPCA of Central Florida ~ your local Humane Society!
It is being held on October 20th and Dixie and I are joining in on the fun!!
I always tell people, my dream job is to rescue every dog on the planet and take the best care of them you could ever imagine. But, as we all know, that is impossible. I rescued my first dog in January of 2011 and it was the best thing I ever did. Dixie is the best friend I could ever ask for and she has filled my heart with so much joy and love I can't even put it into words. I can't imagine what I'd do without her. It makes me sick to my stomach to think people have the capacity to treat animals anything less than the best. I want to do all I can to help any animal in need and joining the wiggle waggle walk is a decent start I think! My heart breaks a little more every time I see or hear of an animal abuse case or even think of kill shelters. Please help me raise any amount of money we can to say we helped! Every little bit counts. No animal deserves to be mistreated or left behind. A pet's actions are merely a resemblance of its owner. There is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners. I could go on for days, but I think you get the point! Help Dixie and I raise some money to help the SPCA of Central Florida!

"Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from the little accident I had in the back of my cage.. I didn't want her to know I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.

As she read my kennel card I hoped she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and make a difference in someone's life.

She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.

Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms.

I would promise to always be by her side!

I would promise to keep her safe!

I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes!

I was SO,SO fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to be saved.
