My Message
After many puzzling months of seemingly inconsistent symptoms (and a few brief misdiagnoses), our daughter Gabrielle was diagnosed with achromatopsia. This rare condition affects only one in 30000 - 40000. Gabrielle has no functioning cone receptors in her eyes, which means she sees only with her rod receptors (which is what we use for night vision). In daylight her vision becomes completely washed out unless she wears very dark sunglasses. Having no cone receptors also means she sees in black and white only. Gabrielle is a very bright and happy 2 year old who will have most of the opportunities of any other child, thanks in part to the help and support of the CNIB.

Any donations you feel you can give will go to the CNIB so they can continue to help those who need it.

My goal for this campaign is to do 15 minutes of yoga everyday. (I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but for a mother of 2 little ones (one toilet training, and one breastfeeding and starting solids) it isn't easy!)
Thank you,

Julia Roy
