My Message
Hi, My name is Adrienne. ****************************************************** I was in a horse back riding accident nearly thirty years ago when I was ten. I was thrown off a horse and hit my head on a manure spreader; I suffered a right frontal hematoma that left me in a coma for three and a half months. When I woke up on Christmas day I couldn't see on my left side, my left side was totally paralyzed and worst of all I couldn't speak. I can still remember the fear I felt when I couldn't remember what had happened to me or where I was. ****************************************************** I went to a rehabilitation hospital next. There, for the next nine months, even simple things like feeding myself, bathing, walking and talking, I had to learn how to do them all over again. I have continued with therapy and have dealt with many challenges and I look forward to the three mile walk which will be another challenge. ****************************************************** I met my husband Charles at Janet Palmeroy Center (Formerly R.C.H.) in San Francisco at a program called Brainstorm. He is brain injured too. ****************************************************** ******************************************************
