This Saturday, on Ottawa Race Weekend, I'm running the 10 kilometre race to raise money for Amnesty International's China Campaign. Will you sponsor me? I've been training for 6 weeks and am ready to go! Amnesty is campaigning to urge China to keep its promise that this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing leave a legacy of human rights. I'm particularly concerned about religious and cultural freedom for Tibetans and Uighurs, and for journalists (like Hu Jia, pictured above with his family), environmentalists and human rights activists who are currently detained in China for speaking out for what is right.
