When China made its bid for the 2008 Olympic games, they promised that this would mean an improvement in human rights. But what have we seen instead? Army and police cracking down on peaceful protesters in Tibet; families being evicted from their homes to clear the grounds for the Olympic games; and journalists and community leaders being arrested and locked up for speaking out about these abuses.

That's why I'm running to support Amnesty International in the Ottawa half-marathon race on May 25th. And that's why I'm asking for your support.
