I am celebrating my Ten year anniversary - Cancer Free!. When I was 22 I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Non-Hodkin's Large B Cell Lymphoma within my left shoulder. The treatment lasted a little over a year, at which time I underwent CHOP chemotherapy, Intrathecal (spinal) chemotherapy and radiation. This was perhaps one of the most difficult times in life, and without the support of my family and the great medical staff at the Dixon centre I would probably not be here. In celebration, of ten years since my last treatment, I have decided to participate in a ½ marathon this June as a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program. Team In Training is raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I’m completing this event in honor of all individuals who supported me through my battle with cancer, and for those currently fighting it.
