Welcome to my Team In Training home page! I really appreciate you taking the time to follow my progress as I journey towards completing my first triathlon in Hawaii on March 30, 2014.

I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada’s Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I’m completing this event in honour of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! I recently read a statistic that since the early 1960's that five year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. With your donation we can work towards increasing that survival rate even more!

This will be my triathlon. Over the past 16 months I have completed 3 marathons. I wouldn't have started that journey without Team in Training's help and coaching. I decided I was ready for a new challenge. But I will be honest, now that I am faced with running and biking (which I haven't done that often!) I am remembering the fear of the unknown of training for something new. But I have faith in the coaches and other members of the team that our training will pay off and we will be able to complete our events!

Recent events in my life have really reminded me how fragile life is. I think that's why I feel so passionate about being a part of Team in Training. I want to make an impact on the world. I want to help someone who maybe can't help themselves. I want to make an impact in the fight against cancer. You can too!
