My Message
These are two of our stories. We have 25,000 others every single year. Please support the SPCA.

MARCEL was a lovely three year-old Lab-Husky mix brought to our shelter when his owners decided to move in May. He was a relaxed dog who loved naps and gentle walks. Perhaps because he was so calm and kind he did not stand out. For almost eight months he was ignored by visitors, labelled as ordinary. The dog-walker volunteers put a cute bandana around him to make him stand out, but nothing worked...until, finally, his day came. A wonderful couple adopted him in October and has stayed in touch with the SPCA ever since. Now we regularly receive photos of Marcel lounging around.

STEVIE was a screaming, 10 days old kitten, found and brought in by a kind construction worker. To minimize the risk of infection, our foster department found a couple to foster him the same day. Stevie stayed with them for five weeks. They say he was the biggest little trouble-maker they've ever fostered- running around, climbing on the couch, trying to steal food from their own lazy, old cat. When the vet checked him out before adoption they were surprised to learn, Stevie was almost completely blind. Through the SPCA volunteer petfinder program, they were able to find Stevie a home without ever returning him to the shelter. He now lives with a wonderful family and two other cats in the West Island.
